RED Management is the client’s project manager for the development of an education and research center next to the Karolinska University Hospital in Flemingsberg in Huddinge. The development is a joint venture between Hemsö and SveaNor.
It is a new built construction of about 45,000 square meters with a focus on education, research and medical technology businesses within the Life sciences sector. The property is a 3D property, built on top of an existing garage.
The project is divided into two stages. The first stage of Technology for Health opened in the fall of 2016 with the Royal Institute of Technology and the Red Cross as the largest tenants.
Phase two is under construction. Karolinska Institute will lease the majority of the premises to conduct so-called translational research, ie, where such knowledge generated in basic research rapidly can be transferred in applied practice in the healthcare sector, and experience from it can be returned to basic research. Opening is planned for the end of 2017
